Education

Colin

Education has been developed on a part time basis using various correspondence, tutorial and self initiative methods.

The first degree was a Bachelor of Science from the London School of Economics 1975, with a specialization in International Relations.

Following this in response to a need for upgrading Bible teaching opportunities a Bachelor of Divinity was obtained as an external degree from Serampore Senate, Calcutta India in 1978. The choice of Serampore was made as this is the only institution recognized by the Indian Government for acceptance in their institutions.

To obtain tuition for the BD, material from  Fuller Seminary in Pasadena CA USA was utilized . This aroused interest and in response to further needs occasioned by responsibility for missionary orientation seminars, conducted in Delhi, India and Multan, Pakistan external studies were continued leading to a Master of Theology from The Fuller School of World Mission in 1983.

Fuller studies demonstrated the possibility of completing a Doctorate in Missiology in 1989. Returning to Canada in 1995 presented the challenge of relating to Canadian students, for which the response was completing a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Community and Economic Development in 1989 from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.

Recent studies have led to the completion of a Ph.D in 2008 from Simon Fraser University. Thesis: Christian Mission in India. Contribution of some Missions to Social Change.
