Tent is a ministry began by Professor Vijayam following his retirement as Professor of Geology at Usmania University, Hyderabad. The vision is to assist Indian mission outreach to develop
a culturally relevant ministry to the groups they are in contact with. The idea is to create Master Trainers who will then return and train another 10 like themselves and so multiply the ministry. This is an ideal easy
to sketch out on paper but much more of a challenge to execute. Similar to the exponential theories of evangelism it breaks down rapidly in practice unless a very radical revision is made of current Christian
practices.
Train again is our chosen preference to reach from Bangalore being an overnight journey in couchette 2 tier ac style.
Our first period will be in the city of Secunderabad to look up a few friends before venturing into the more rural environment at Gatkeshwar where TENT has its campus. This campus parallels
that of that of IEM in Bangalore area.
Accommodation again is basic but comfortable with a room and attached bathroom. We eat along with the students in their cafeteria. Some small concessions are made to our preferences
particularly for breakfast when we get eggs and toast.
